  1. ART BIOGRAPHY
At age six, I wanted to be an artist.
My second-grade teacher seemed bent on turning me into a writer-editor.
Is that why I've had
a dual career in writing and art?!

I paint from my art studio in Gainesville, Florida. My paintings of nature and human nature are inspired by subtropical scenery and wildlife and people who appreciate the outdoors. I paint on canvas, wood and cork. I also  create eco-art from palm bark and other foraged materials, applying lessons learned from cultures of the past and cultures around the world.

In the 1970s I served as Consultant in Ceramics for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and owned a clay studio, school and gallery by the Brooklyn Bridge. My sculptures were exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Arts and Design and the Yellowstone Art Museum in Montana.

I practice a daily meditation that supports, enriches and fills me with gratitude. My artwork is an effort to express those good feelings.
